FSC Statement on Representational Priorities

In representing Forest Service workers in the current pandemic emergency, we recognize that we are civil servants working for America the best that we can during these difficult times. The NFFE Forest Service Council commits to the following framework of priorities:

1. Ensure employee safety, including social distancing or proper PPE when social distancing is not possible for mission critical work.
2. Recognize that employees should perform work that is assigned to them, including work that may be different from their regular work, as long as #1 can be observed.
3. Minimize financial hardships for employees, including the loss of pay and leave.
4. Minimize inequities among those who have different work and personal situations that may affect their pay and leave status during this emergency.
